Fiennes finally conquers Everest

British adventurer Sir Ranulph Fiennes has reached the summit of Mount Everest, succeeding after two previous attempts ended in failure.






He is the first man to cross both the polar ice-caps and climb 8,850 metres (29,035ft) to the world's highest peak.

Surfer rescues drowning kangaroo

Just to show those enjoying adventurous sports have a softer side.

The rescue of a drowning kangaroo off the Gold Coast in Australia has been captured on mobile phone.

Neil McCallum got on his surfboard to try to rescue the kangaroo after seeing it "dive in the water and start swimming out to sea".

Beware cheap SRT gear

A party from Southampton University Caving Club returned to the surface this evening after spending most of the day in Ogof Rhyd Sych(Near Merthyr) to discover that their minibus had been broken into and emptied. As well as all of the teams pesonal gear (including dry clothes, mobiles, wallets etc) the bus was carrying at least four, possibly more, full SRT kits. If anyone is offered a deal on gear that seems to good to be true, or sports gear sporting the SUCC tag please email contact@slogical.co.uk and we will pass the details onto SUCC
